My Story

I've always been a South Carolinian. I grew up in the small-sized city of Florence, SC and then ventured down to Charleston for school. I currently attend the College of Charleston where I am currently a junior, it's everything I ever wanted & more. I feel inspired by my surroundings and people more and more each day. I'll never tire of Charleston and it will always feel like home. I live in a house with seven other girls, a golden retriever & husky mix named Gunner, and a hedgehog named Theodore. Together we are the Dwelling Place and we love community, accountability, loving others well, ice cream, and all piling in the same room to sleep in each other's beds.

My Inspiration

I've always been an artist. Growing up there was a David Hockney print hanging in the living room and ever since I've been experimenting with color and composition. My mom always brought art into my life whether it was reading about art, traveling to galleries to see art, or going to the theater to see visual art. If I had to describe my style it would be a combination of fauvism and post-impressionism and I'm greatly influenced by David Hockney, Durain, Matisse, and Cezanne. When I got to Charleston and I started taking art classes I couldn't go a semester without taking a painting class and I haven't stopped since. My professors have had such an influence with the ownership I take with my painting and the boldness and freedom I have in it. Now, this boldness and freedom translates into how I paint as worship for the Lord.

Now to Him who is able to do IMMEASURABLY MORE than all we could ask or imagine, be all glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever. Amen.
